A very interesting case of a patient complaining of painful purple pinky toes which she suspects is due to a pedicure she had one month ago.
After multiple trips to the hospital and family doctor, she is here to get a better idea of what’s going on.
This is something I haven’t really seen before so I decided to turn on the camera during my assessment to see how I develop a treatment plan for this interesting case.
(Hoping to say very soon) Bye, bye painful purple pinky toes
Love,

Thank you for posting this video… I am reading the comments and the feedback from the medical community and from concerned family members whose older relatives have had similar issues is phenomenal. I hope you find out quickly what is happening; it would be incredible if the diagnosis was triggered by one of the comments on this video. The modern age and the internet are wonderful things in cases like this. Best of luck to this woman and best of luck to everyone out there having similar issues! Always push for better care, if you think something is still wrong, don't stop, keep seeking new doctors and new answers!
As I age dr seem to ignore if you might have a serious problem. I'm 73 and still have good sense. It's good your mom has you to advacate for her.
I'm surprised they did not recommend epsom salt soaking, if they thought it might be an infection. You can see that every other toe is pink at the tip. This is tough. Outcome should be interesting.
maybe she should get massages and her feet/toes exfoliated to increase the circulation…
is she diabetic though? 🤔🤔
and how would she have to sleep to have her feet lower?? sleep in a recliner?
Interesting, I would be interested to know what the results of her tests are and what the treatment is and how her toes respond to treatment. I can't see how the pedicure had anything to do with this…on the video it looked to me like a bad sprain that was in the healing process or maybe some very ill fitting shoes were worn while she walked a great distance. I do hope she gets this figured out and doesn't end up losing her baby toes or something!
I am so impressed with how kind Jonathan is. He is always so patient and gentle with his patients.
It was very interesting and helpful. I was recently diagnosed with superficial thrombosis and I experienced tight pain and heat and swelling in my thigh and lower leg and foot along the outer lateral area of my big toe. And yes the cold made it worse.
This is a very interesting case. I pray she gets the help she needs right away.
Fascinating. I too am looking forward to a diagnosis and hope she finds relief.
You are just the sweetest guy I know. I have rainaudes. It affects my nose as well as my feet and hands. It is so bizarre that when it gets cold your capillaries constrict instead of dialate. My nose runs from the beginning of winter to spring. I just love that you have so many geriatric patients and that they have you. So much of the time medical personnel don’t really listen to their older patients. You are a breath of fresh air.
needs an interpretator to help
We need some new videos, please Jonathan. I watch the same ones over and over.
I used to have a client with Raynauds but her hands were more affected than her feet. It looks like maybe the person who did this lady's pedicure was a little too aggressive. 1) cutting a little too far on the pinky toe and 2) using too much pressure when exfoliating the bottom of her foot. But in a way it can be seen as a positive thing if it brought this condition to light.
Bless her heart
I surely would love to kno the outcome of this. I feel terribly that she is suffering in such pain. Why can’t she be given something for the pain-at least at night? Is she diabetic?
Why are they prescribing antibiotics for NO INFECTION?
Is it possible to be gangrene? ( I know its highly unlikely, but…)
