Question by ArtyFarty: How do I choose a good beauty salon for a manicure?
I want to get extensions done for the first time, but I’m not sure how to spot a good salon. Anything to look for? Any questions to ask?

do they look professional? are they clean and tidy? also always make sure you get a consultation, if they sit you at a manicure station without doing a consultation then walk straight out of the door. it is also best to avoid those Japanese speedy extensions as they are just out to get as many appointments in a day as possible. also try and go for a consultation a week of so before hand.
**by the way weezyb (below) most places won’t do infills if you never had the extensions done there, for health and safety reasons, every salon uses different products which can’t be mixed, they will just soak off the extensions and put a new set on which will cost you twice as much money.

I would usually choose a place by recommendation. Failing that why not have a look, does it look clean and bright ? are there certificates on the wall ? is it busy ? maybe try a consulation first.
don’t just think that because somewhere is very expensive they will do a better job than somewhere cheaper. you should try one out, if you don’t like it try somewhere else for your infills you will soon get to know what and where you will like.

what kind are you thinking of?
there are a few
i’ll tell you about two i can think of
first you can get the plat in ones this takes around 10 hrs to do and are easy to take out
also there are sew ins
you have your hair caroled verry tiny like afro folk have and then they sew strands of hair in to the caroles and style
you can also have iron in
this is glued to your hair at the routs and looks more like your own hair
the price range now
the first is the cheapest
the second is a little more expencive
the last will cost a small fortune
but they all last aprox 6wks
oh and word of mouth is the best way to find a good salon
