is it a good idea or is is only going to ruin my pedicure?

It’s fine.
It’s just a clear topcoat and it won’t mess up your pedicure. It will just make it shinier and last longer.

Why not call the place where you got it, and say- “I love your work, can I put clear polish on it?”
