If your calluses are truly that bad that after trying using a good (non abrasive) foot file in the shower and moisturizing after (it may take longer for some people to get their desired results), then I’d suggest either doing research on state board requirements and watching different salons based on cleanliness and watch to see if they are following the guidelines that they are supposed to. Many salons and spas skip out on basic health rules like replacing foot files and buffers, and cleaning foot tubs. In addition to not following state board’s requirements, many nail technicians are ill informed of their own profession (nail schools often don’t have good nail instructors because they often use hair professionals to teach nails) or don’t apply what they were taught. Of course watch for the type of foot file they use and if they are clipping at callused skin with nippers, the best thing you can do is leave and find a beter nail tech. A good nail technician will only clip what is white and lifted(dead skin). If you don’t want to put the time in to watch your local nail salons and spas and choose the best (not based on rating but on the salon or spa’s abilty to do things right) then your best luck is to go to a doctor who is a specialists for feet (this will be more costly so I’d only do this if the things I suggested before did not get your feet as soft as you wanted after giving it a few weeks)… (btw my mom is a nail instructor and was a nail tech before I was even born so I’ve read the nail book used in nail schools, so anyone who says this isn’t practical advice and the foot peg or rough files are better, then I’d suggest getting the milady nail book 7th edition and reading what is best for your pedicure)

Don’t use the ped egg or any sort of rough grater like files. It will work short term but using those abrasive “files” only make the callus grow back rougher later on (which you could keep using products like that and pretend it’s not a problem because again it does work short term). An alternative is using “flowery foot files” (that is a good affordable brand) or just more gentle foot files with a similar appearance. Using the right foot file in the shower after letting your feet soak, then moisturizing as soon as you get out is enough for most people (even with thick calluses). Cutting it off or using products that are too rough cause long term worse calluses (it’s kind of like having a scar then picking at it and you get a worse scar from picking at the scab and the more you pick the worse it gets).

thank you, it really helps! I didn't use the sugar+ the other ingredients for the scrubbing just the ponce stone but still works; definitely it needs more but still lovely result! <3

  7. Secret Love says:

1 step : soak your feet

With half a cup of milk and 2 tbsp of olive oil
And put these ingredients in a tub that’s filled with hot water. And let your feet soak for 20-30 minutes.

    Step 2: Exfoliating

    1/4 cup of sugar

    2 tbsp of olive oil

    1 tbsp of lemon juice

And mix and scrub away for 5 minutes.

Apply oil or lotion afterward and put on socks.
